Kerala Institute of Tourism & Travel Studies Alumni Association (KITTSA) is a registered body under the Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955 (Reg. No. TVM/TC/353/2023 dated 13th June 2023). The first General body meeting of KITTSA was held on 12th November 2022. Alumni contribute to the growth and development of the institution by generously supporting the various activities of the institution. Alumni meets in the College also provides a platform for discussion of developmental issues of the institution. The office bearers of the alumni association has close links with the college administration in giving suggestions for reforms and volunteering support for developmental activities.

Objectives

  1. To facilitate interaction among former students of KITTS.
  2. To liaison with all stakeholders for the overall development of KITTS and KITTSA.
  3. To promote and support research and academic activities of KITTS.
  4. To promote social and cultural activities of former and present students of KITTS.
  5. To encourage and appreciate academic and other outstanding achievements of KITTS as well as its faculty members.
  6. To establish endowments and scholarships.
  7. To award incentives/prizes for outstanding contributions of scholars.
  8. To act as a facilitator for dissemination of knowledge, advice and support the students to find job opportunities through placement cell and other academic works in India and abroad.

Membership

  1. Membership of the Association is open to all former students of KITTS who were students of the programmes
  2. Application for membership shall be made in the prescribed form signed by the applicant accompanied by the requisite fee.
  3. Membership in the Association shall be of the following categories:
    • (a) Founder Members
    • (b) Life Members
    • (c) Ordinary Members
    • (d) Honorary Members
    • (e) Ex-officio Members

    • • 'Founder Members' means those who took initiative in the formation of the KITTSA that met on 12-11-2022 and contribute the one time prescribed fee of Rs.2,000/ as formative funds.
    • • 'Life Members' means members who contribute a sum of Rs.2,000/- (Rupees two thousand only) as one time membership fee.
    • • 'Ordinary Members' means members who contribute an annual membership fee of Rs.500/- (Rupees five hundred only) which have to be renewed every year.
    • • Honorary Members: The General body may confer Honorary Membership of the Association upon any person or persons of distinction, in recognition of signal service to the Association in particular and/or to the profession in general, to those who are willing to accept it. Such Honorary members and shall have no right to vote at any meeting of the Association nor shall be entitled to be elected as member of any Committee or hold any office.
    • • Ex-officio Members: The Director KITTS, Principal KITTS, permanent faculty of KITTS shall be ex-officio members and are exempted from payment of any fee towards membership. Such Ex-officio members and shall have no right to vote at any meeting of the Association nor shall be entitled to be elected as member of any Committee or hold any office.
    • • Every member, other than honorary members and Ex-officio members, shall have a right to vote in the meeting of the Association.
    • • The Association shall maintain a register of members and it shall be open to inspection by all members.
    • • A member may resign from the Association with 15 days' notice.
    • • The ordinary members shall lose their membership temporarily if they default in the payment of annual subscription for a continuous period of 3 years. Re-admission is at the discretion of the Executive Committee. In such case, the fee for enrolment and membership has to be remitted (Re- Registration).
