Dr. Hari Krishnan P. K has done his PhD in Tourism Management from University of Kerala and Master of Tourism Administration (MTA) from Pondicherry Central University. He did his Bachelors in English Language & Literature (B.A.) & Bachelors in Education (B.Ed) from University of Kerala. He has also done IATA (Standard) Travel Consultant Diploma in 1994 and is an Accredited Management Teacher (AMT) by All India Management Association (AIMA).
He has 16 years hands on experience in Tourism industry out of which thirteen years was in Senior Management level. His expertise includes areas in inbound tourism like Product Development, Inbound Tour Operations, International and National Marketing, Handling charter flights, cruise liners and Event Management. He played a pivotal role in developing the first responsible, sustainable and eco-friendly tourism initiative in Kerala "The Thekkady Tiger Trail,"" which won the National Award for Excellence from Ministry of Tourism, Government of India in 1999.
He was a regular participant in major International tourism fairs like WTM London & ITB Berlin from 1999 and has visited more than twenty foreign countries for Marketing Tourism products and services. He played a key role in setting up the first off shore Travel & Tourism BPO in Kerala in 2004 at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram for a UK based client. He was deeply involved in organizing the holiday for the legendary "Sir Paul McCartney" when he visited Kerala in 2002
He is the co-ordinator of several training programmes undertaken by KITTS on behalf of Government of Kerala agencies including Department of Tourism, KASE (Kerala Academy of Skill Excellence) & Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP). He was also the coordinator for the State & Local level tourist guides training programme and for the Assistant Tourism Information officers of Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala.
He has published many research papers in UGC CARE and reputed international journals including Scopus and presented papers at international and national seminars.
He held the post of Secretary, South Kerala Hoteliers Federation (SKHF) from 2008 - 2011. He is member of All India Management Association (AIMA), National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM) Trivandrum Management Association (TMA), Indian Tourism Congress (ITC), Indian Institute of Training & Development and SKAL.
