The PG Diploma in Public Relations in Tourism is designed to prepare students to effectively communicate for connecting tourism organisations with the public. The students after completing the course will be able to acquire knowledge and skills in tourism management, public relations, communication, marketing, information technology etc. The qualification prescribed for Tourist Information Officer by the Kerala Public Service Commission is "Bachelors Degree of University" or its equivalent qualifications and successful completion (Pass) of the Certificate Course in Tourism Public Relation from a recognised University or Kerala Institute of Tourism and Travel Studies or Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management.
