Centre for Ecotourism (CET) of KITTS

Since KITTS has been extending its core expertise to the Ecotourism initiatives of Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala for last two decades, Centre for Ecotourism (CET) under KITTS was launched in 2014 as a specialised wing to undertake ecotourism related programmes and projects to achieve the goals of Sustainable Tourism Development at State and National level. The Centre for Ecotourism of KITTS is associating with Directorate of Ecotourism, Government of Kerala.

    The initiatives taken by Centre for Ecotourism of KITTS is enhancing sustainable livelihood of marginalised communities living in and around ecotourism destinations in the State. The CET of KITTS is equipped with array of most modern technological advances in undertaking ecotourism related projects / programmes at national and international level. The CET of KITTS empowers indigenous and backward communities through continuous research, education, training & skill development programmes aiming to achieve Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Mission of CET

Our mission is to make ecotourism as an appropriate tool for the betterment of indigenous / marginalised people and promote sustainable ecotourism practices in ecotourism destinations.
